The nominees for the Finlandia junior award are:
The nominees for Finland Junior award were announced today. There’s two picture books, three youth books and one fantasy novel, total of six children and youth literature books, which are competing each others to get the Finland’s biggest literature award.
Competing youth books are:
Et kävele yksin by Juuli Niemi (WSOY)
Lumi by Seita Vuorela (WSOY)
Kesän jälkeen kaikki on toisin by Siri Kolu (Otava)
The other books which are competing in the same category are:
Picture book Piki by Katri Kirkkopelto (Lasten Keskus)
Picture book Minä, Muru ja Metsä by Lena Frölander-Ulf (Schildts & Söderströms)
Fantasy novel Maan alaiset by Sanna Isto (WSOY)
In the selection board there were principal lecturer Pekka Vartiainen, art pedagogue Mervi Riikonen and producer Sanna Sommers.
The Finnish singer and actress Vuokko Hovatta will pick the winner which will be announced on 24th November. The winner gets the 30 000 euros cash prize.
